SUMMARY:IoT Cybersecurity in the Smart Built Environment Workshop
DESCRIPTION:RegisterIn March 2023\, the IoTSF published a practical guide on IoT Cybersecurity for facilities professionals in the Smart Built Environment (SBE). In July\, the IoTSF is hosting a workshop for leaders and stakeholders to actively participate in shaping the SBE Working Group’s direction and the accomplishments of its sub-groups.\nThe workshop is being hosted in a fabulous London location\, with stunning riverside views\, by the international technical professional services firm\, Jacobs. \nWorkshop Goal: \nThe SBE WG intends to provide further IoT Cybersecurity best practice guides for SBE stakeholders. The workshop will help focus on key roles and themes. We believe the following stakeholder groups to be interested in participating: \nProperty owners / investors\, building technologies (safety & security)\, procurement\, facilities\, cyber security manager\, physical security managers\, systems engineering\, integrators / installers. \nRegister for this workshop\, to help us develop new guidance. \nAgenda: \n\n\n\n12:00 – 13:00\nRegistration and networking lunch\n\n\n13:00 – 13:10\nCo- Chairs IoTSF SBE WG: Sarb Sembhi & James Willison introduce the workshop\n\n\n13:10 – 13:20\nHost presentation by Nigel Stanley\, Senior Director of Cybersecurity\, Jacobs\n\n\n13:20 – 14:30\nIntroductions: Attendees and their interest in the SBE\n\n\n14:30 – 14:50\nBreak: Tea and coffee\n\n\n14:50 – 15:30\nTable top discussions – leading stakeholder groups\n\n\n15:30 – 16:10\nGroups report back and agree future activities\n\n\n16:10 – 16:20\nBirmingham City University: parallel workshop in September\n\n\n16:20 – 16:30\nConclusions and wrap up\n\n\n\nPlease indicate your particular interest in this area when you register.

SUMMARY:Engineering Trustworthy AI Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Engineering Trustworthy AI Workshop\nRegister TECHWORKS PARTNERED WORKSHOP: OPEN TO ALL\nThe role of automation is set to increase in cybersecurity and trust in those systems is essential. IoTSF is keen to support the development of trustworthy AI systems and – as a member of the TechWorks family of connected communities – we are co-hosting a workshop for interested parties to ensure our efforts are purposeful and coordinated across stakeholder groups. \nOur key question: AI innovation is accelerating and the legislative and governance responses are being rapidly assembled; but how should industry collectively respond to ensure a healthy balance between innovation and protection?  \nAt the workshop\, we will dive into what it takes to engineer trustworthy AI systems and how a collaborative effort can support that intent. We will be exploring the constituent parts such as design schemas\, methods\, approaches\, best practices\, frameworks\, and the potential for standards. Whilst the core theme will be “engineering AI systems”\, we cannot achieve our aim without understanding the wider contexts presented by the business\, policy\, legal and ethical themes as well. If your interest is in any of these areas – you should come along as we want to hear from you. \nThis is your opportunity to present your position and help forge the collective industry response. \nAs an outcome of the workshop\, we will:\n\nIdentify and prioritise areas for collective industry action.\nPublish the results and start building appropriate industry-led groups.\n\nWe hope to see you there!
