SUMMARY:IoTSF March Webinar: Smart Built Environment Guidance for Facilities Professionals
DESCRIPTION:Register for FREESmart Built Environment Guidance for Facilities Professionals\nThe exciting new series of monthly Zoom webinars continue on Thursday 30th March. The topic will be Smart Built Environment Guidance for Facilities Professionals. \nTaking place on the final Thursday of every month throughout 2023\, we’ll showcase the latest thought leadership on a range of topics so that you stay ahead of the curve on IoT security. \nIn this webinar we discuss new Guidance from the IoT Security Foundation on IoT Security for Facilities Professionals and focus on Smart Built Environments. \nThe IoTSF formed a Smart Building working group in 2017 to look at the issue of risk to buildings from cyber attacks. \nThe topic has become more important over the years and leaders from the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) joined to help write relevant and important guidance for facilities professionals and the key stakeholders they need to work with to manage the risk effectively. \nIn larger organisations\, this will include cyber and physical security teams and be part of a general enterprise risk management strategy. But for many SMEs there will be fewer experts to help and this guidance indicates what needs to be done. It takes the view that by identifying the risk and requirements that the organisation will be more resilient. \nWe are delighted to welcome Sarb Sembhi\, Co-Chair of the Smart Built Environment working group and IoTSF Executive Steering Board member. \nJoining him will be James Willison\, Co-Chair of the IoTSF Smart Built Environment working group. \nWhat could be more important than securing our buildings against cyber attacks if our systems and the technology falls down? \nJoin host Chris Bennison on Thursday 30th March. \nSarb Sembhi\nCo-Chair of the Smart Built Environment Working Group and IoTSF Executive Steering Board Member \nSarb is the  CTO for Virtually Informed\, and had several CISO roles. He speaks\, writes and contributes to many events and publications. He was shortlisted for the CSO30 2021 Awards\, and was shortlisted 5 in the IFSecGlobal 2020 20 Most Influential People in Security. He is a mentor for start-ups and a board advisor\, as well as Co-Chair of the Smart Built Environment Group and Executive Steering Board member of the IoTSF. \nJames Willison\nCo-Chair of the Smart Built Environment Working Group \nIn March 2022\, James Willison joined IoTSF as Project and Engagement Manager\, and is co Chair of the IoTSF Smart Built Environment Working Group. He has campaigned for over twenty years to bring the cyber and physical security realms closer together. He works with Sarb Sembhi on the IFSEC Converged Security Centre and on Smart City Security White papers. He has been an Advisor on Convergence to the Mitie TSM Board\,  a senior lecturer in Security Management at Loughborough University and a Digital Security Expert with the European Union. SUMMARY:IoTSF Member Event: Collaboration\, Cooperation & Compliance Webinar
DESCRIPTION:The EU is set to have the most well-defined IoT security and privacy regulations in the world\, and other regions will soon follow suit. Security solutions in IoT are nearly as prevalent as IoT solutions themselves\, yet this very abundance could be causing as many problems as it solves\, especially when it comes to compliance. As manufacturers\, solution owners\, and even system integrators address security with buzzwords and piece-meal solutions\, they increase future operating overhead and financial risk – with potentially devastating consequences. \nIn this panel we will discuss: \n\nThe role of collaboration in compliance with regulations.\nHow forming future-looking security communities provides reliable and effective security solutions through the lifetime of an IoT device or project.\nHow cooperation among vendors can be leveraged at every step in the value chain.\n\nFind out more and register here: https://www.zariot.com/resources/collaboration-cooperation-compliance

SUMMARY:IoTSF Member Event: Defending the Cloud: PCIe and CXL Data Security for High-Performance Computing
DESCRIPTION:Cloud computing is going through a significant overhaul and continues to grow globally with increasing presence of hyperscale cloud providers for big data\, high-performance computing (HPC)\, and analytics. In-house data centers are increasingly going off-premise\, resulting in the co-location of data centers that manage and store data for companies and application developers to improve scalability and reduce IT costs. This huge\, and growing\, amount of data with confidential and critical information must be protected. In addition\, new laws and regulations to comply with data privacy rules\, along with standards updates for PCI Express (PCIe) and CXL for Integrity and Data Encryption (IDE)\, put more pressure on solution providers to secure their systems and data starting with the SoC. \nIn this presentation\, attendees will: \n\nLearn about today’s known threats for cloud and edge computing systems\nUnderstand new developments in PCIe and CXL security solutions\, including IDEs\nWalk through a cloud computing use case that addresses the applications’ security\, performance\, and latency requirements with DesignWare® Security IP\n\n  \nBy the end of the presentation\, attendees will understand the importance of securing data moving through PCIe and CXL interfaces\, market point of view\, and get a reference example for how security can be addressed with DesignWare IP. \n  \nFind out more & Register HERE
