Secure Horizons 2026 – an IoTSF partner event – took place on January 21st, 2026 at IWM Duxford, Cambridge, England.

Secure and Resilient Systems in the Era of CRA and IoT

Attendees from across the IoT supply chain gathered to discuss forthcoming regulations and what is necessary to meet them.

We heard much concern over the complexity, speed and raft of cyber regulations.

The prime focus was on the EU Cyber Resilience Act (EU CRA) along with emergent UK activity including:

  • Cybersecurity and Resilience (Network and Information Systems) Bill
  • NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) version 4.0
  • Software Security Code of Practice (DSIT)
  • Government Cyber Action Plan
  • Cyber Assessment Framework

The key message was that “this stuff is coming, you need to be aware of it and, as an industry we need to be prepared”.

Solutions and help is at hand: The event also featured presentations from IoTSF member organisations including SCI Semiconductor (Haydn Povey), Cyberwhiz (Anil Doyran) and Quantum Dice (George Dunlop).

At the end of the day IoTSF Managing Director, John Moor, chaired an interactive panel and audience session with the key objectives of identifying the real issues and how we can work together, as an industry, to delivery better security whilst meeting legal requirements.

The IoTSF was established to ‘make it safe to connect’ and to facilitate collaboration, discussion, understanding and practical solutions.

It is clear that the regulations are causing a great deal of concern in all quarters and whilst well intended, there will be a lot of issues as the regulation continues to evolve, goes live and eventually bites (big fines!). Indeed, a number of attendees knew very little or were entirely unaware of some of the regulations. This is why it is crucial that IoTSF provides a forum to share these concerns, showcase solutions and represents member interests when needed.

A focal point for regulation is the IoTSF’s Regulatory Watch working group which meets on a regular basis to ensure members are kept up to speed on current and emerging matters. Members can find out when the next meeting takes place via the events public calendar on our website and details, minutes and meeting links are also available via our members’ platform.

The popular EU Cyber Resilience Act Executive Brief is available to IoTSF members, also via our members’ platform.
