About this Award

The IoT Security Foundation would like to identify and celebrate organisations which demonstrate good IoT security stewardship as part of the IoTSF’s mission to ‘make it safe to connect’ by driving best practice adoption and raising security standards.

Award Benefits

The winner of the award will receive reputational and profile raising benefits. Tangible elements include: a physical award, a certificate, a press release and digital assets which can each be used for marketing purposes.

The IoT Security Foundation is the global champion for IoT security; as such this award is both prestigious and unique.

Who can apply?

The award is open to organisations that:

  • Develop IoT products for the market
  • Act as a retailer or distributor, or
  • Deploy/use IoT to enjoy a business benefit such as productivity/efficiency gains or enabling an innovative service.

Applicants can be of any size organisation. The judges will make their decision based on the relative commitment made by the applicant – this is about demonstrating the importance of security to an organisation and/or its customers. As such, the judges will be looking for evidence of “walking the walk”.

There is no cost to submit your application and applicants can be from any sector and any part of the world.

Applicants do not have to be IoTSF members to apply for the award.

Application Tips

The entry should be clear  It is better to give one example in detail and list others than attempt to cover too many topics in too much detail.

Give a background  The judges will not necessarily know about your sector or business, so a brief summary of these will help them place you in context.  This might include size, turnover, recent issues in the sector, nature of business and so on.

State the challenges  All applications really consist of a challenge or series of challenges that have successfully been met.

Tell the story  Once the challenges are identified, you need to tell the judges how you met or overcame them. This is the most important part of the entry, it explains the actions, the issues and the reason that this is a potential winning entry.

Use results  Judges look for evidence in success and innovation, this can be demonstrated in a number of ways but simple facts and figures often tell the story best.
Summarise and make the case – why should you win? This is the point to say and not be shy!

Write your entries before submitting them  write your entries offline, so that you have a permanent record of them.  It will then take just a few minutes to submit them through our easy-to-use online submission system.
